Q3: From the design perspective, how does the GZ-X900 differ from conventional video cameras?
The GZ-X900 is a personal tool that an individual can carry around and enjoy on a daily basis. In other words, it has been designed more for personal use, where the user films elements of their daily life in a casual manner, rather than filming family-oriented events. And since we wanted people to carry around the camera everyday, we worked towards a design that featured superior portability and had a presence as a gadget.
Moreover, including unique features such as burst shooting and high-speed recording enables the GZ-X900 to be used in a way that differs from conventional video cameras. To that end, while maintaining the camera's holding performance, we used a grip configuration to ensure a good filming orientation at all times, with a button layout that allows for the reliable operation when taking both videos and stills.
