By making full use of the 29.3mm wide angle lens and the 65x Dynamic Zoom, I managed to capture everything from the scenery around the swans right down to their expressions. It’s the rainy season in Japan. In this shoot, I’ll use the high-end GZ-GX1 model, which comes equipped with an F1.2 GT LENS and is capable of high-resolution AVCHD progressive recording. Out in the rain, I’ll extract stills from progressive video, use high-speed capturing, and shoot videos that convey the beautiful bokeh (a soft blur) of the backgrounds!

The Annular Eclipse on May 21. Capture the Sun’s Ring!

On May 21, Japan saw its first annular eclipse in 25 years. We captured the ring-shaped sun with the GZ-EX275 model, which comes equipped with 40x optical zoom. We also used the GZ-V505 to get Time-Lapse REC of the moving sun’s metamorphosis. In addition, we performed viewing experiments with pinholes and sunlight filtering through tree leaves!
